Flytårnet Kultursenter is located in the old workshops around the control tower of what was Oslo’s airport, Fornebu. There are nearly 100 studios and workshops for artists, wood carvers, ceramicists, sculpturers, glassworkers, frame makers and interior designers, in addition to four galleries: Volart, Galleri DC-3, Galleri Odonata and Bærum Kunsthall. The buildings are also home to three museums, Kultur på Hjul (‘culture on wheels’: cars), the Vespa Museum, and Fornebu Historical Museum.
Flytårnet Fornebu and Flytårnet Kultursenter invite us to a light lunch at 12:00 with a presentation of the centre and plans for future development. Afterwards, we will explore some of the studios.
