Tove Romsaas Wang, former Director General of Save the Children Norway and a registered nurse, has been a long-time NGO worker. She has a Master in International Health from John Hopkins University in 1982. After a short career at Rikshospitalet and a mission for the UN and WHO in Jemen in the 70s, she became involved in Save the Children Norway as a programme coordinator and later as director of SCN’s International Services. Ms Wang became the organisation’s on-site representative in Zimbabwe in 1991, then Deputy Secretary General of the International Save the Children before being appointed Secretary General in 2018. She was awarded the King’s Medal of Merit in 2019.
