Dear Members,
March has arrived with the promise of spring and warmer temperatures. After equinox, the days will be longer than the nights, giving us more energy. Coltsfoot will appear on snow-free patches long before any other plants are ready to even grow leaves. It’s a harbinger of a new beginning. The yellow colour seems unusually bright. I am really starting to look forward to spring. For the first time in my life, I have not been out there skiing, so winter has seemed longer than usual. I’ll catch up next year.
As President, I want to ensure a viable future for our organisation, and a sound management of our finances. The Board has therefore been working on finding a user-friendly solution to our accounting problem. As you all know, the system we have had since December 2024, Styreweb Regnskap AS, proved to be unusually costly, meaning that this year’s accounts will show a significant deficit. That is why the Interim Board decided to cancel the contract at the end of October last autumn. The notice period ended on January 31, 2026.
By the time you read this, the Board has found another accounting system more adapted to our organisation’s rather simple needs and at a cost that will not deplete our contingency fund. We shall keep you updated.
