February holds the promise of spring yet usually offers excellent skiing conditions. Cross-country skiing is something you can enjoy at your own speed. Nothing beats a peaceful weekday afternoon in the woods enjoying the silence. You may see traces of elk and deer, and maybe a rapid white hare will cross your trail! No hassle, no stress. Whether you ski or not, we would like to update you on organisational matters. The Board is working to maintain cooperation and transparency to optimise our services to you. At the end of November, Vera Minja concluded her temporary assignment as Treasurer and handed over the accounting responsibilities to Styreweb’s accounting services. We thank Vera for her work. Deputy Board member Ludo Van Vooren will now assume the role of financial liaison with the Styreweb. Any questions pertaining to invoice payments, reimbursements, or refunds should therefore be forwarded to him (admin@iforum.no). Elspeth Walseth will step down as Secretary after holding the position since 2009. We are indebted to Elspeth for her excellent work as Secretary and her steadfast commitment to International Forum. Are you interested in becoming our new Secretary? We hope that many of you will consider it (see p. 5). A short note: Several of our members have had difficulty receiving our Newsletter and reminders. We are happy to tell you that the complete member-ship directory has now been overhauled, and the electronic email lists have been streamlined. From now on, all of you should receive the Newsletter in your inbox. If not, please contact us and we will look into it again. The Board is looking forward to seeing you at the next Monthly Meeting and the other exciting events planned for this month. On February 3, Lorelou Desjardins will talk about her experiences of moving to Norway. It promises to be an evening full of cultural reflections that comes with a good dose of humour. The monthly meetings are also a wonderful way to socialise, reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. May it be a good February for you! Best wishes, The Board
