Dear Members,
Autumn has clearly arrived now. We can both see and smell it. In the woods there are mushrooms and soon the leaves will turn into a variety of colours. In the mountains, theheather already has hints of red. The circle of life keeps turning. In Oslo, nature is just a tram or a T-bane trip away from the busyness of town, in summer as well as in winter. In that respect, we are indeed fortunate.
The world is such a fickle place, life is so busy, nothing stops. However, when we go into nature, we manage to calm down and breathe, at least for some time. Or we manage to think things through, let the flow of thoughts do the work for us, find peace of mind and get thingssorted. Sometimes we walk alone, sometimes we share our thoughts with a friend. Being ‘off the grid’ is always soothing. Nature itself is soothing, even in a storm.
International Forum offers a lot to our members. Friendships are made as we participate in the walking group, book clubs, bridge groups or Norwegian conversation. The committees proposeart exhibitions, special visits, and stimulating lectures. These are moments enjoyed with friendly people who share our interests and values. We all have something to contribute.
The Board is working to ensure that IF continues to be an arena where people of different origins, cultures and experiences can meet and intermingle. We hope that you will continue to participate in the activities offered this autumn.
