March comes with the promise of spring. The days are getting longer, and nature is surely – if slowly – preparing for the next season. March 8 is also World Women’s Day, a day honouring the achievements of women and promoting women’s rights, solidarity and empowerment across the globe. It is a national holiday in numerous countries and has been sponsored by the UN since 1975. The word kvinne in Norwegian has the same roots as the English word queen. Happy World Women’s Day!
Allow us to update you on our work. On February 11, IF’s Foreign Office (FO) Board members had a fruitful exchange with Tone Allers, Director General and Chief of Protocol at the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. One of the topics we discussed was the Ministry’s upcoming move to its new premises, which means that we will lose our current office. We have already taken the first steps to organise our inventory and prepare for this transition.
We are pleased to report that the transition to Styreweb as our new treasurer has worked smoothly. In this regard, kindly note that we have reconfigured the email addresses of International Forum.
