SUMMARY:Visit to Askim Frukt og Bærpresseri   (Askim Fruit and Berry Press)
DESCRIPTION:The Special Events Committee has the pleasure of inviting Forum members to a guided tour of Askim Fruit and Berry Press. Since 1936\, the company has produced juice from apples\, berries\, fruit and vegetables and prepared traditional products enjoyed by many generations. The company follows the horticultural seasons.  In June\, rhubarb arrives at the press. August is berry season\, and juice\, jams and jellies are made then. In September\, apples are in focus. The press still uses the bottles and jars designed by Moss Glassworks in 1967. Many people have fond childhood memories of trips to Askim Frukt og Bærpresseri. \nOur guide will be Astrid Lier Rømuld\, Manager. After her introduction to the company and its operations\, we will be served apple waffles in the factory shop – and we will have plenty of time to buy the delicious goodies that are for sale. For the sporty\, we recommend a swim in the very nice Østfoldbadet. \n  \nDATE/TIME:       Tuesday\, October 19\, at 11:45 (for 12:00) \nSIGN UP:            By email to the Office\, int.forum@online.no as soon as \npossible and no later than October 5. Please state your name and the event in the transaction. \nTRANSPORT:     Train from Oslo Central Station\, L22 to Mysen. This train \nstops at Askim\, where we get off. This train may also be boarded at Skøyen and Nationaltheatret. \nTrain departures: Skøyen 10.22\, Nationaltheatret 10.26\, Sentralstasjon 10.29. Expected arrival at Askim is 11.25. \nYou may be picked up from the station by members driving\, or take a taxi. It is only 6 minutes by car from Askim station to Askim Fruit and Berry Press. \nCar: Take E18 southwards from Oslo. Exit to Askim at the ‘Krosby-krysset’ intersection. The trip takes about an hour.
