webpage editing The Special Events Committee is pleased to welcome you to a guided tour through Norwegian ski history at the Ski Museum as well as a visit to the top of the Jump Tower at Holmenkollen National Ski Arena.

The Ski Museum celebrated its centennial in December 2023. It boasts the world’s largest collection of skis and winter gear. The museum and its exhibitions have recently been modernised. The Snøhetta architecture firm has re-designed parts of the building.

This museum features, among many other interesting items and stories, skis from the Middle Ages up until today, as well as equipment and skis used by members of the Royal Family, members of several polar expeditions, and our most successful skiing athletes.

The exhibition illustrates the unique position of ski sport in Norwegian culture and history, giving visitors a key to understanding why skiing became such an important identity for Norwegians.

After the renewal of parts of the museum, the oldest ski found in Norway has now been included in the exhibition. Another new addition is Oddvar Brå’s broken ski pole from 1982, which has at last found its way to the Ski Museum! You will learn about its story during the tour.

The museum also features a ski manufacturers workshop and a ride by lift to the top of the ski jump tower, from where you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of Oslo and surrounding areas.

For lunch there is a café in connection with the museum. If you want to have lunch there after the visit, please state what you wish to eat when you sign up, and then pay for this at the same time as you pay for the museum/ski tower visit all in one payment.

We suggest that you choose from the below selection:             (NOK)

  • Baguette with cheese and ham   –
  • Carrot cake   –
