DESCRIPTION:Henie Onstad Art Centre \nChristian Skredsvig \nThursday\, February 13 \nChristian Skredsvig (1854-1924) entered Norwegian art history through iconic \nimages such as Seljefløyten (1889) and Sankthansaften (1886). One hundred \nyears after his death\, the Henie Onstad Art Centre highlights his modern \nambitions in a new major exhibition. \nFew Norwegian artists are as popular and versatile as Christian Skredsvig. \nSkredsvig enjoyed great success in Paris with his magnificent Salon Paintings\, \nwhich thrilled the critics and perhaps inspired the impressionist Claude Monet\, \nas speculated by this exhibition. Following his success in Paris\, he also became \nthe most prominent Fleskum painter of his time\, with well-known works such as \nSeljefløyten and Sankthansaften\, \nDATE: Thursday\, February 13 at 11:45 (for 12:00) \nSIGN UP: By email to Trudy Brand-Jacobsen as \nsoon as possible and no later than February 6.
